Translation is an art, but even art can be organized logically. AO
Every document we receive for translation is considered a project and it undergoes for basic stages: Analysis, Translation, Edition and Formating
Analysis – The project manager analyzes the document to determine its content, topic, vocabulary, style and target audience. With this information we determine which translators will participate in the project and who will edit. Translation Memories (TM) are chosen, the work is divided and distributed, each part with its corresponding TM.
Translation – Each translator, an expert in his/her field, receives the translation assignment by e-mail attachment, along with any glossaries and TM's. All translators begin to work simultaneously and every four to six hours they deliver an update for their TM's with a new vocabulary. The project manager consolidates all the memories and forwards the new TM's in order to achieve a standard in terminology. This is all possible with the help of computer aided translation software that organizes the translator's job.
Editing – Editing is a fundamental part of the translation process. The editor not only checks grammatical aspects, he also takes care of orthographical, stylistic and semantic parameters. The editor unifies terminology, style and readability. In other words, the editor makes sure that the target document has the look and feel of the original.
Formating – formatting adjustments consist of assuring that the end document looks exactly like the original. Informant team we'd make sure that all the fonts, headers, titles, tabs, tables, indexes, hidden codes, links, images, and any other attributes of the original are in place. The document is delivered to the customer ready for reading or publication.
